About the Author

GuePo – short for Guerrero Poeta, Spanish for “Warrior Poet” – is the pen name AJ Garcia chose to sign his poems, reflecting the delicate balance between strength and vulnerability.

Born in Venezuela and based in Seattle, GuePo began writing as a way to process life’s complexities:

  • Survival
  • Heartbreak
  • Self-respect
  • Emotional growth

What started as personal reflection evolved into ‘Ink & Skin’, his first poetry collection, shaped by honest moments and emotional clarity.

This book is offered as a tribute to those who inspired him and as a gift to anyone learning to come home to themselves.

The Beginning

What began as simple poems became a shared journey of reflection, presence, and honesty

It all started simply-by sharing poems at work. What felt like personal reflections soon began resonating with others. Their encouragement planted the idea of a book, even though it was never part of the original plan.

With time, it became clear this project wasn’t just about poetry it was about honoring a journey. I promised that once I reached 100 poems, I would publish them. Today, that promise has been fulfilled.

This book exists because of the voices and hearts it touched along the way. It’s a passion project-created to honor my journey and those who saw themselves in my words.

The Purpose

This is not about profit-it’s about presence, reflection, and authenticity in a world that often asks us to hide. That’s why the digital version is free-because poetry should be for everyone. For those who wish to support, a physical copy is available.
